One interesting tidbit from the review: “White’s novel may remind readers of Felicia Day’s limited-series podcast Third Eye (2023), in all the best ways.” I’m not familiar with this podcast, but if you are, let me know if that’s a good comp!
I wrote Psalm of Vampires to take a break from Restive Souls. Psalm of Vampires is more of a page-turning potboiler. Restive Souls has been nearly a four-year project and is much more serious business. They’re very different kinds of books, so if versatility is your thing, you now have a wide range of options with just one writer: MagicLand, Psalm of Vampires, and soon, Restive Souls.
I’ve begun submitting Restive Souls to small press houses and agents. Fingers crossed!
